Frequently asked questions
What data does CartFunnel collect?
Anonymous cart and checkout events only — product views, add-to-carts, and checkout steps. No names, emails, addresses, or payment details ever pass through the app. It uses Shopify's Web Pixels sandbox, the same privacy-respecting mechanism Shopify's own analytics tools use.
Why don't these numbers match Shopify Analytics?
Different measurement methods. Shopify Analytics counts sessions; CartFunnel counts events and, optionally, unique visitors via an anonymous browser identifier. Ad blockers, cookie consent choices, and bot filtering also differ between the two tools. Neither number is "wrong" — they should move in the same direction, just not match exactly.
Will this slow down my storefront?
No measurable impact. The pixel runs inside Shopify's sandboxed Web Pixels environment, isolated from your theme's rendering, and batches its network calls rather than firing on every interaction.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Uninstalling immediately disables the tracking pixel and deletes your store's settings. The underlying analytics data (raw events and rollups) is fully purged within 48 hours, in line with Shopify's standard app-uninstall data lifecycle. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, from your Shopify admin's billing settings — no need to contact us. You keep full access through the end of your current billing period.
Does this work with checkout extensibility / Shopify's new checkout?
Yes — CartFunnel tracks checkout step events regardless of which checkout experience your store uses.
Why is there a paywall — no free tier?
The dashboard is the entire product; there's nothing meaningfully useful to give away for free that wouldn't just be a worse version of the same thing. Every install gets a full 14-day trial with everything unlocked, so you can judge the real thing before paying anything.
